SEDAR+ Transition & Overview

SEDAR transitioned to a new system on July 25, 2023 called SEDAR+. All regulatory filings must now be submitted through this platform.

Official Resources

What is SEDAR+?

SEDAR+ (System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval) is Canada's official platform for electronic filing of disclosure documents by public companies.

SEDAR+ Hours

SEDAR+ filings can be completed at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and Canadian statutory holidays. This is a major change from the legacy SEDAR system.

Filing deadlines remain unchanged: If a deadline falls on a weekend or a statutory holiday in the relevant jurisdiction, it automatically extends to the next business day.

Note: SEDAR+ support via the CSA Service Desk is available Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET, excluding Canadian statutory holidays. Toll-free 1-800-219-5381, email sedarplus@csa-acvm.ca , or visit the SEDAR+ contact page.

SEDAR+ Filing Requirements

Document Preparation

All SEDAR+ documents must be in Adobe PDF format. We'll convert your documents (Word, Excel, etc.) to the required format at no additional charge; our fees only apply to the actual filing process.

Filing Fees & Payment

Regulatory filing fees vary by document type and jurisdiction. Look up your specific fees with the CSA SEDAR+ Regulatory Fee Guide.

Payment: SEDAR+ accepts credit card, electronic funds transfer (EFT), or a pre-authorized debit (PAD) bank account configured in your SEDAR+ profile. Make sure your payment method is set up before you file.

Recent Fee Changes

Fee increase: SEDAR+ system fees rose roughly 60% effective November 28, 2025, with further annual increases of about 3% scheduled over the following four years. See the official SEDAR+ System Fees schedule (PDF).
Quebec (AMF) fee recalibration: Effective June 22, 2026, the AMF is restructuring fees under the Securities Act and Derivatives Act. Key changes include a new $3,000/year fee for international dealers/advisers and non-resident fund managers using statutory exemptions, a $2,000 fee for pre-filing consultations, late-filing penalties of $100/business day (capped at $5,000/year) for Form 45-106F1, and exemptive relief application fees rising from $690 to $2,000. CIRO-registered dealer fees decrease. See the AMF recalibration announcement.

Issuer Type
New for venture issuers: Under CSA Coordinated Blanket Order 51-933 (effective March 19, 2026, expiring September 19, 2027), eligible venture issuers may opt into semi-annual reporting, filing a single six-month interim report instead of separate Q1 and Q3 interims. Issuers who don't opt in stay on the standard interim deadlines shown above. Eligibility is determined by the order's criteria; confirm with your securities counsel or your provincial securities commission.

SEDAR+ Holidays 2026

The SEDAR+ system itself runs 24/7, including holidays, but the CSA Service Desk and securities regulators observe the closures below, and any filing deadline that lands on a weekend or closed date rolls to the next business day. Authoritative source: CSA Staff Notice 13-315 (Revised): Closed Dates 2026.
