SEC Holidays & Hours 2026
Plan your filings around EDGAR operating hours and federal holidays. Deadlines that fall on closed days roll to the next business day.
EDGAR Hours of Operation
The SEC’s EDGAR system accepts filings only during specific windows. Filings submitted outside these hours (or on holidays) will be processed on the next business day EDGAR is open.
Filings received before the daily deadline are publicly available the same day. Later filings are released the next business day.
- Section 16 Forms 3, 4 & 5 (insider reports) are made public immediately upon acceptance, up to EDGAR’s closing time.
- No new filings accepted after closing time, on weekends, or on federal holidays.
Important Notes
If a filing deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day on which EDGAR is open.
Under Rule 12b-25, file Form NT 10-K, NT 10-Q, or NT 20-F no later than one business day after the original due date for an automatic extension: 15 calendar days for a 10-K or 20-F, 5 for a 10-Q.
