SEC Holidays & Hours 2026

Plan your filings around EDGAR operating hours and federal holidays. Deadlines that fall on closed days roll to the next business day.

EDGAR Hours of Operation

The SEC’s EDGAR system accepts filings only during specific windows. Filings submitted outside these hours (or on holidays) will be processed on the next business day EDGAR is open.

EASTERN TIME (ET)
6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Monday to Friday (excluding holidays)
PACIFIC TIME (PT)
3:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Monday to Friday (excluding holidays)
Daily Deadline for Same-Day Public Availability
5:30 PM ET / 2:30 PM PT

Filings received before the daily deadline are publicly available the same day. Later filings are released the next business day.

  • Section 16 Forms 3, 4 & 5 (insider reports) are made public immediately upon acceptance, up to EDGAR’s closing time.
  • No new filings accepted after closing time, on weekends, or on federal holidays.

Important Notes

Weekend / Holiday Rollovers

If a filing deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day on which EDGAR is open.

Extensions (NT Filings)

File Form NT 10-K or NT 10-Q within 24 hours after the original deadline for an automatic 15-day (10-K) or 5-day (10-Q) extension.
